This Privacy Policy explains how Elena Barroso Pozo ("I", "me", "my") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit elenabarrosopozo.com or get in touch about my services.
I am the data controller for the personal data described below. I am a sole trader based in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Contact: elebarpoz@gmail.com
What I collect
Contact form submissions: name, email address, and any message content you send me.
Email correspondence: if you email me directly, I hold that correspondence and any attachments you send.
Basic website analytics (if enabled): anonymised or pseudonymised data about how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed and general location.
I do not collect payment card details directly. Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Wise) who handle that data under their own privacy policies.
Why I collect it
I use this data to:
Respond to enquiries and discuss potential projects
Deliver services to clients I'm working with
Keep basic business records, including for accounting and tax purposes
The legal basis for this processing is either your consent (when you contact me), or my legitimate interest in running my freelance business and responding to enquiries, or performance of a contract if we're working together.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry and client correspondence for as long as needed to deliver the service and meet UK tax and accounting record-keeping requirements (currently at least 6 years for financial records), after which it is deleted.
Sharing your data
I don't sell or rent your personal data. I may share it with:
Third-party tools I use to run my business (for example, email hosting, invoicing, or payment processing providers like Wise)
Authorities where required by law
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data I hold about you
Ask me to correct or delete it
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at elebarpoz@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data hasn't been handled properly.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent version.

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of elenabarrosopozo.com and any services booked through it. By enquiring about or booking a project with me, you agree to these terms.
Who I am
Elena Barroso Pozo, a freelance video and creative specialist operating as a sole trader based in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Contact: elebarpoz@gmail.com
Services
I provide freelance video production, editing, 2D and 3D animation, and related creative services, including fashion campaign films, product videos, and podcast editing, as agreed on a project-by-project basis with each client.
Getting started
Every project begins with a written quote or proposal outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and price. Work begins once this is agreed and the deposit (see Payment, below) has been received.
Payment
Payment terms depend on the type of engagement, confirmed at quote stage:
Retainer clients: invoiced monthly for agreed ongoing work, payable within 14 days of invoice date.
One-off projects: a 20% deposit is required upfront to secure the booking and begin work. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due when final deliverables are sent, by an agreed deadline.
Filming + editing projects: a 20% deposit is required upfront to secure the booking. The remaining balance for the filming session is due on the day of filming. Any additional editing requested afterwards, beyond what was agreed, is quoted and invoiced separately before those extra files are delivered.
Late payment may result in a delay to future bookings or ongoing work.
Revisions
Each project includes 2 rounds of revisions as standard. Additional revisions beyond this, or changes to the agreed brief, may be charged separately and will be confirmed with you before proceeding.
Intellectual property
Until the balance is paid in full, all work remains my property. Once paid in full, usage rights transfer to the client as agreed in the project quote. I retain the right to display finished work in my portfolio and on social media unless the client requests otherwise in writing (for example, for confidential or unreleased campaigns).
Cancellation
If a client cancels a project after work has begun, the deposit is not refunded, and any additional work completed up to the point of cancellation will be invoiced at the agreed rate.
Liability
I'll deliver work to a professional standard and agreed timeline, but I'm not liable for delays or issues caused by circumstances outside my control, or for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of delivered work.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be handled by the Scottish courts.

Deposits
A 20% deposit is required to confirm and begin one-off and filming + editing projects. This deposit is non-refundable once paid, as it secures my time and covers work started on your project. Retainer clients are invoiced monthly rather than paying a deposit.
Cancellations after work begins
One-off projects: if cancelled after work has begun, the deposit is retained, and any additional work completed beyond the deposit amount is invoiced based on time and materials used up to the cancellation point.
Filming + editing projects: if cancelled after the deposit is paid but before the filming session, the deposit is retained to cover time already committed. If cancelled after filming has taken place, the balance for the filming session becomes due in full, as the session has already been delivered.
Retainer clients: may cancel by giving 30 days' notice. Work completed in the current billing period is payable in full.
Final balance and delivery
One-off projects: the remaining balance is due when final deliverables are sent, by the agreed deadline, and before final files are released.
Filming + editing projects: the balance for the filming session is due on the day of filming. Any additional editing requested afterwards is quoted and paid for separately before those extra files are delivered.
Retainer clients: invoiced monthly, payable within 14 days of invoice date.
Final files or deliverables are non-refundable once delivered, except in cases where the work does not match the agreed brief, at my discretion.
Card payment refunds
Where payments are processed via card (including through Wise and Monzo), any approved refund will be returned to the original payment method used, in line with standard card processing timelines.
Questions
If you have any questions about a payment, cancellation, or potential refund, contact me directly at elebarpoz@gmail.com and I'll look into it.
